Joanne Caffrey of Total Train is a licensed centre for delivering BTEC approved material as part of The National Federation For Personal Safety.

Joanne holds BTEC instructor qualifications for conflict management, self defence and physical restraint. She is a NFPS ltd instructor for the full spectrum of use of force including handcuffs and emergency restraint belts.

Joanne specializes in the physical restraint of vulnerable people such as within the education or care sectors where vulnerable people are at high risk.

She received national recognition for her training programme for Safer Detention and Handling of Persons in Police Custody and won the 2012 British Excellence in Performance award for her contribution to emergency services operational delivery and development.

Joanne has advised and worked at national level regarding use of force and death through positional asphyxia or restraint. Joanne has a background in Corporate Manslaughter connected to these topics.

Joanne has a wide experience of actually handling violent and vulnerable people and has worked on the national planning for the emergency service response to the 2011 national riots and the 2012 Olympics .

Joanne is a national expert witness for court use in the use of force and management of violence.

Trained and qualified via Bond Solon legal training and Cardiff University.
