First Aid Training

Total Train is an approved training centre for First Aid Awards to deliver awarding body training qualifications for first aid courses. Issuing level 2 and 3 awards as per the QCF (Qualification Code Framework).

All courses are available as ‘open' courses or private group bookings at a venue and date of your choice. Corporate discounts available for multiple group bookings as a contract purchase.

All awarding courses provide a business with 100% ‘Due Diligence' as per the 2013 Health & Safety Executive guidance.

Joanne has been awarded a British Excellence award in 2012 in relation to her training packages which included the prevention of deaths in custody, for which she was also nationally commended. Joanne has a wealth of hands on experience regarding first aid through 24 years in the emergency services.

It is a legal requirement to have sufficient and readily available first aiders in your work place at all times whilst your business is operating. If you are an education establishment such as a school you may need as a minimum a person with an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification to deal with adult casualties and a person with a Paediatric qualification to deal with children from birth to 16 years.

First Aid at Work

QCF 600/7380/9 credit value 3. level 3 award. Valid 3 years.

This 3 day / 18 hours course is fully compliant with the Health & Safety at Work Act first aid requirements for high risk work places. It is intended mostly for adult casualties. This person is legally a work place ‘First Aider'

Emergency First Aid at Work

QCF 600/7379/2. Level 2 award. Valid 3 years.

This 6 hour course is fully compliant with the Health & Safety at Work Act first aid requirements for low and medium risk work places. It is intended for adult casualties. This person is legally a work place ‘First Aider'

Paediatric First Aid

QCF 500/9920/6. Level 2 award. Valid 3 years.

This 12 hour course is fully compliant with your legal ‘Duty of Care' towards young people from birth to 16years old when you have responsibility for them in the absence of their parent or legal guardian.
This courses is fully compliant with Early Years requirements and suitable for teachers, child minders, and any person working with or taking responsibility for young people.

Activity First Aid

QCF 500/9915/2 level 2 award. Valid 3 years

This 16 hour course is fully compliant with national governing body requirements for roles such as PE teachers, mountain leaders, mountain bike instructors, pitch side first aiders. This course includes the adult casualty Emergency First Aid at Work course with additional paediatric and sport specific issues

Defibrillator Training

QCF 600/1852/5 level 2 award. Valid 3 years

This 6 hour course allows the attendee to be a ‘competent person' in the use of a defibrillator machine in a CPR situation. The course is suitable for ‘first aiders' or un trained people to attend as the course also includes CPR, choking, heart attacks etc which are conditions that may lead to the defibrillator being used.

Emergency Response First Aid

First Aid Awards award. Valid 3 years

This 3 hour course is designed for people to assist the ‘first aider' or act in the short term interim until the first aider arrives or act on behalf of the first aider with tasks such as on going observations.

Continual Professional Development First Aid annual refresher

Total Train certificate. Valid 1 year.

This 3 hour refresher course for ‘first aiders' keeps basic knowledge and skills up to date. The Health & Safety Executive recommend first aiders have annual refreshers.

Canine First Aid
Total Train certificate valid 1 year.

This 3 hour courses allows the attendee to learn basic first aid for their dog especially recognizing the vital signs of their dog becoming ill.
This course is popular with canine professionals such as kennels, canine rescue and dog walkers.
